Two Utah Ski Resorts Seeking a Gondola Connection

As the crow flies, the resorts of Park City and those of Big Cottonwood Canyon are pretty close. And while that’s good news for the subset of skiers who happen to be crows, the rest of us still have to make a 45-mile drive. That may change, with the proposed SkiLink — a transportation-only gondola route that would link Canyons on one side with Solitude on the other, moving a thousand skiers an hour between the two resorts and creating 6,000 acres of connected terrain. As with any wilderness project, there’s lots of approvals and permits and impact studies yet to go, but it’s an idea we hope will take off.
