From the Patting Ourselves on the Back Department: SNOW contributor Jack Shaw has received a Valais Media Award for the Winter 2009 feature Railway to Heaven, recounting his journey across the Swiss Alps on the slow, but famous, Glacier Express. Bestowed by Information-Valais, the awards recognize “journalists who have published exceptional articles or features about Valais” in a variety of languages; Jack claimed the English third prize.
