From the Midwinter 2010 issue...
Not many companies can trace their genesis to an orange helmet with rubber duckies screwed to it. Nutcase Helmets can. Michael Morrow created that very head-gear for the 2000 Oregon-Oregon State game, and the reactions of other fans inspired the former Nike creative director to start a line of irreverent but fashionable helmets for bikers and skateboarders. This year, Nutcase adds designs specifically for the snow. It's a medium Morrow knows well: he's the older brother of Rob Morrow, founder of Morrow Snowboards.
Nutcase Helmets Classic Shell snow helmet (available in 10 designs), $85; and Rip Shell snow helmet (available in four designs), $95. nutcasehelmets.com
