SNOW House, SNOW magazine’s happening hotspot at the Whistler Olympics, turned to gold last night as legends of the sliding sports came by in support of World Cup Dreams, founded by former skiers Bryon Friedman and Erik Schlopy to provide disability insurance to U.S. Ski Team members. Guests sipped Patron tequila cocktails and listened to live music by Friedman while mingling with alpine greats Alberto Tomba and Marc Girardelli, and snowboard cross sensations Seth Wescott (fresh from his gold medal win last week) and five-time X-Games champion Nate Holland. Current Olympians, including Jamaican ski cross competitor Errol Kerr and Christof Innerhofer of the Italian alpine team, also stopped by to party with the likes of U.S. snowboarder Graham Watanabe and Mike Douglas, Godfather of the New School. The highlight of the evening came as Friedman announced that World Cup Dreams had met its funding goal and secured a policy to cover all U.S. alpine team members.
